What a fantastic tournament as the Spartans led wire to wire and won going away by 18 shots! The Spartans won it with an absolute birdie barrage on the back 9...they had 17 birdies and just 3 bogies as that tsunami of putts buried the field.
Kajsa shoots a 66 to lead the way for the Spartans and she wins the individual title as well with a 9 under 207. She has been playing fantastic all month long and was rewarded with her 2nd straight tournament win.

She was 5 over on the first 5 holes with 2 doubles and a bogie...and could easily have just called it in but starting on hole 9 Lucia was just flat out LIGHTS OUT as she birdied 7 of the last 10 holes!!! Absolutely amazing golf and what a comeback after that terrible start for her.
Super proud of Louisa Carlbom.... Louisa really fell off last spring and lost her place among the starting 5 in the Fall... but with the freshman faltering this spring Dana put her back in and she responded beautifully shooting an even par 216 and finishing in 10th place. Great golf by Louisa as she really came thru for the team!.
Rebecca Gyllner played solid consistent golf all 3 days and also finished at even par. Great tournament for her.
Fr Darae Chung shot a nice 1 under 71 today and finished 17th at 3 over. Played well last 2 rounds.
Great team effort and what a great finish to the regular season for Spartans Women's Golf.... as they bring home another Mountain West Championship for SJSU. Congratulation ladies (and Dana!) you played awesome this week destroying the field winning by 18 strokes!!! Just plain awesome!! Now, on to the nationals!!
Edit: Just listening to Dana's interview and learned that the 17 under 847 was a new tournament record!! How about that!!

Great summary, Ramillies. These women are tremendous athletes and playing some of the very best collegiate golf in the country right now (men's golf included). Wow! I'm especially blown away by their performance on the back nine today. They absolutely annihilated the competition. I'm awestruck.
The Spartans shot -13 as a team on the back nine alone and -9 on the day with 23 birdies total. Are you kidding me? The team put up 59 birdies over three rounds. UNLV placed second with 44. I'm not surprised the -17 score is a tourney record. These are cartoon numbers. The next best team score in MWC tournament history is -11 last year when UNM won it.
Incidentally, the Spartans have finished in the top three in seven out of 10 MWC tournament appearances. They've won it twice (2022, 2024) and were the the runner-ups twice (2014, 2023).
I hope the team can keep the momentum going during regional play and make a serious run at the national title. They're that good right now. GO SPARTANS!

There has been a couple times in the last few years when they should have won this tournament but didn’t.
No doubt about it this year as the ladies lived up to their potential and absolutely dominated.
Great job ladies! Congrats!

Very happy for the team and the way they finished. It’s good to see the program regain the MWC Championship.
